Moira Hahn
Bert Green Fine Art is pleased to announce a limited edition print by Los Angeles-based artist Moira Hahn titled Night Parade of 100 Demons/Kasha. It is our first collaboration with the artist, whose work we have admired for many years.
It is inspired by a famous story in Japanese folklore in which one hundred yokai (demons) come out to march at night: Kasha is a "cat-like demon that descends from the sky." The 18th Century artist Toriyama Sekien drew Kasha as a cat for his “The Illustrated Night Parade of a Hundred Demons.”
The original artwork by Hahn is a watercolor painting on paper. Some slight modifications have been made to the image for the print, such as using Kanji on the spray container, and some color adjustment to optimize the appearance for output. The printing method has resulted in a very beautiful result: a colorful, dramatic image with depth and range.
